GRANDMASTER HEE IL CHO VISIT  - SEPTEMBER 2011

HMA students were out in force for Grandmaster Hee Il Cho's Dublin seminar on the 25th of September.  We had a coach to bring our students to the National Basketball Arena in Tallaght and everyone had a printed tee shirt for the occasion. The two sponsored kickathons and bootcamp helped raise money to cover this for all HMA students. Everyone got the chance afterwards to get handbooks, suits, belts, flags or whatever they liked autographed by Grandmaster and the Masters. On the following morning Mr. Healy flew to Scotland with Grandmaster Cho, Master Darcy, Master Byrne, Master Kirkwood and Master Fitzgerald for a second seminar in Motherwell on Monday evening. 

A.I.M.A.A  East Coast Invitational Tournament League

HMA run a tournament league every year with selected Tae Kwon Do schools involved. This event showcases point sparring, continuous sparring If any student wishes to participate please speak to Mr Healy in class to obtain a registration form.  We have currently completed three out or the four tournaments in the league and the last is due to take place on Sunday 11th of December. Then we will hold an awards night closer to the end of the year and present the league winner trophies.
HMA DEMONSTRATION DECEMBER 2011

To close off this years hard training we will hold a demonstration night so students can show just what they have learned and how much they have improved since joining our schools. The event will be held in the Tinahely school on Thursday 22nd of December and will include Breaking, patterns, sparring and self defence from all HMA students from panthers right up to instructors. If interested in attending this event please speak to Mr. Healy or any Black Belt.
A.I.M.A.A  INTERNATIONAL BLACK BELT TESTING 2011

On the 24th of September while Grandmaster Cho was over to conduct seminars he also headed this years Black Belt testing. Over 60 students from Ireland, England, Scotland and Jersey tested for levels from 1st to 4th degree Black Belt.  HMA had four students testing on the day, Laragh Assistant instructor Miss Stephanie Merrigan and Tinahely Assistant instructor Mr. Damien Murphy both Tested for 2nd degree Black Belt and Laragh students Mr. Nathan Carr and Miss Eve Hamilton both graded for 1st degree Black Belt.  Testing consisted of Traditional movements, patterns, sparring and theory under the panel of Grandmaster Hee Il Cho, Master John Darcy, Master Peter Byrne, Master John Kirkwood and Master Michael Fitzgerald.  All four students were successful in the grading and showed great skill on the floor.
A.I.M.A.A  INTERNATIONAL SUMMER CAMP,  JERSEY 2012

Join us for an action packed week on Jersey Island, UK. This will be the first main summer camp to be held in the UK and so should get a great turnout from HMA students.  Summer camps are much more than a week long training camp, it is a perfect place to get to know fellow students in your association and also to spend time with Grandmasters, masters and other top instructors from around the world. If interested in attending the camp please speak to Mr Healy as soon as possible.
